Tree of Heaven Control Workshop

September 30 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

The highly invasive Tree of Heaven (Ailanthus altissima) is becoming ubiquitous in the eastern forest with the heaviest populations spreading southward from Pennsylvania and westward from West Virginia; Kentucky woodlands are in its path. As with most invasive species, Tree of Heaven will choke out native vegetation, both through vegetative and biochemical processes. In addition, the tree is the primary host of the Spotted Lantern Fly (Lycorma delicatula) whose presence and feeding habits detrimentally affect several significant agricultural forestry products, specifically all stone fruits, maples, and black walnuts.

To Register please click HERE or email us at farmandforest@berrycenter.org
