The Berry Center is proud to welcome bestselling author Kim Michele Richardson (who you may know from her renowned The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek and it’s sequels, as well as her delightful children’s book Junia: The Book Mule of Troublesome Creek) to celebrate her newest picture book, My Kentucky Moonlight School, a beautiful work drawn from the true stories of the commonwealth’s “Moonlight Schools”, vital centers for the nascent adult literacy movement in the early 20th century. With beautiful illustrations by Chloe Giroux, Kim Michele’s newest is another standout in Kentucky children’s literature and more than worthy of a read by grown ups as well. Bring the kids along for a reading, signing, and maybe even a song.
Doors at 1:30pm, event begins at 2pm
$30 entry includes a signed copy of My Kentucky Moonlight School, family tickets available on add-ons menu. Additional copies of the book and all Kim Michele’s work will be available on site.
