Alliance of Religions and Conservation (ARC) –  An organization in the United Kingdom that helps major religions around the world develop environmental programs based on their own core beliefs and practices. Founded by H.R.H. Prince Philip in 1995.

Community Farm Alliance – – An organization which works to assure a food system for Kentucky that provides safe, adequate and nutritious food for human consumption in a manner that is socially, economically, ecologically sustainable and which is a vital component of Kentucky’s economy.

Edible Louisville  This magazine, edited by Sarah Fritschner, promotes local foods, farms and cuisine.

Festival of Faiths – An annual event that celebrates the religious diversity of our community, promotes unity, and strengthens the role of religion in society.

Kentuckians For The Commonwealth (KFTC) –  Their slogan: “Action for Justice” This organization, 30 years old, empowers citizens in gaining justice in the many areas of concern, especially Coal / Energy, Economic Justice, and Voter Empowerment.

Kentucky Resources Council – – The Kentucky environmental advocacy organization which offers legal and strategic guidance and assistance to those have environmental concerns.

The Land Institute –   The Land Institute exists to promote an ecologically stable prairie agriculture system which will have grain yields comparable to that from annual crops. Wes Jackson is the director.

Louisville Farm to Table –  This organization, directed by Sarah Fritschner, works to bring together regional farmers and their locally grown food with urban consumers – restaurants, home, schools and institutions for the purpose of creating an urban / rural connection which is vital to the health of both.

Mountain Association for Community Economic Development (MACED) – This group works for economic alternatives for people in central Appalachia and eastern Kentucky by promoting meaningful work, respect for natural resources, and the strengthening of local communities.

National Catholic Rural Life Conference  –  This organization applies the teachings of Christ for the betterment of rural America.

New Pioneers for a Sustainable Future –  New Pioneers for a Sustainable Future is a community organization founded in Washington County, Kentucky in 2005 to promote knowledge, understandings and development to ensure a healthy, sustainable, safe and prosperous future for all. Sister Claire McGowan, OP is the executive director.

Slow Food USA –  This international organization emphasizes small-scale, sustainable production of quality foods and the preservation of the farms and communities that produce them.

Southern Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education – Supports innovations in sustainable agriculture
